Start with the exact terminology
ACC can identify an active copper cable or assembly, but naming is not always consistent between suppliers. Preserve the manufacturer wording and full reference when it is available.
Information needed for quotation
- Both endpoint devices and port form factors
- Required data rate, length, and quantity
- Power, thermal, coding, and platform constraints
- Whether functional alternatives may be reviewed
Avoid an assumed AEC substitution
Do not replace an ACC requirement with an AEC solely because both are active copper. Confirm the stated interface, assembly function, and platform acceptance criteria.
Technical parameters and selection boundaries
Published configurations differ by manufacturer and exact part number. These are selection dimensions, not one combined specification.
| Parameter | Documented example or choice | Verify for this request |
|---|---|---|
| Documented assembly | GIGALIGHT GQS-AC401-XXXC: QSFP112-to-QSFP112 ACC, described as a 400GbE assembly. | Series identifier with unresolved length suffix, not a complete orderable MPN. Confirm current revision and both endpoints. |
| Electrical supply | Recommended Vcc: 3.13–3.47 V, with 3.3 V typical. | Recommended operating limits are distinct from absolute maximum ratings. |
| Power budget | 1.3 W typical in the inspected preliminary document. | The table does not identify per-end versus whole-assembly scope or a maximum. Obtain that clarification before sizing host-port power. |
| Thermal conditions | Operating case: 0–70 °C; storage: −20 to +85 °C. | Case temperature is not server-room ambient temperature. Confirm the supplied assembly and airflow conditions. |
| Ordered length and wire gauge | The ordering table lists 3–5 m and 30/26 AWG. Its accompanying note recommends 26 AWG for 3–5 m. | Do not assume every gauge is offered at every length. State finished length and require the exact build drawing. |
| Operating humidity | 5–85% in the recommended operating table. | Confirm the environment and condensation requirements against the final supplied specification. |
| Jacket selection | The product page lists an LSZH jacket. | This does not establish a fire-rating certificate or approval for every installation. Specify the applicable jacket requirement and request evidence. |
Standard configurations and project options
| Configuration area | Documented option | Project decision |
|---|---|---|
| Length-specific construction | Choose a confirmed length, gauge and connector orientation within the reviewed series. | The manufacturer recommends passive QSFP112 DAC for its shorter-than-2 m case; this is selection guidance for that range, not a universal rule. |
| Host and protocol qualification | Supply both host models, port mode, firmware and intended Ethernet or InfiniBand configuration. | The retained sources contain inconsistent protocol and aggregate-rate wording; no blanket cross-protocol compatibility is asserted here. |
Representative models and configurations
Examples illustrate real product variation. A listed manufacturer or model is not a statement of our stock, authorization, or confirmed availability.
| Manufacturer / series | Published configuration | Important scope |
|---|---|---|
| GIGALIGHT GQS-AC401-XXXC | QSFP112 ACC series; ordering range 3–5 m; 30/26 AWG table with 26 AWG recommendation for 3–5 m. | Preliminary 20 August 2024 document. XXX is a configuration placeholder; obtain the complete ordering code and confirmed specification. |
Applications and procurement context
- Evaluate ACC for a specified short copper interconnect where the exact host, length, power and thermal requirements are known. Confirm the supplier configuration before comparing it with passive DAC or retimed AEC.
Compatibility, current supply, lead time, origin, and acceptance documents must be confirmed for the actual order.
