Turn the link plan into a coordinated request
Describe the ports being added, the existing network and the required change. A port-to-port list is more useful than an aggregate cable count: it keeps endpoints, lengths and configuration assumptions visible during review.
Request preparation checklist

| Select the path | Compare copper, active cable and optical options against the actual distance, endpoints, routing and service needs. |
| Include the small parts | Patch cords, trunks, panels, adapters, brackets, labels and spare quantities where the design requires them. |
| Plan acceptance | Required configuration evidence, port settings, installation checks, error monitoring and the agreed load or test scenario. |
Review and acceptance boundary
Resolve host coding, breakout mapping and fiber polarity before treating items as interchangeable. Keep new links and replacements for existing links separate if their constraints differ.
